Welcome to Our Home

With a long and colorful history of Southern hospitality in Lexington, let the Hicklin family host your group at Ryland House. Located on Main Street, our quiet, cheerful home is walking distance to Wentworth Military Academy and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Ryland House, a jewel of Neoclassic Revival design, was built in late 1911 by Dr. Caius Tacitus Ryland, one of Lexington’s most beloved family doctors, and his wife, Betty Belle. The house underwent renovation from 1999-2001; the home has two full bathrooms, both completely renovated, as well as four lovely guest rooms decorated in the delightful colors of Scandinavia. Guests may relax in front of the fireplace with a snack, or enjoy music on the side porch in mild weather.

I just wanted to express our appreciation for your wonderful hospitality during our recent stay. The private tour of your mother’s home was a special added treat. I love history so this was a wonderful experience.

Thank you so much for your hospitality. We had a wonderful time at the Ryland House B&B for our 3rd anniversary. It was peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what we wanted. The cheese puff for breakfast was so delicious. Thanks for everything.

It was our lucky day when we were given the Ryland House name and number! Thank goodness, you had room for us. This has been a very special experience for us. You have graciously provided a beautiful environment within the walls of your home. What a gift that is to share with all who stay here. We loved our room, The Library, and the delicious breakfasts. Already we are anticipating our time in Lexington a year from now. Thanks for everything!
